Strongly advise against shopping here if you are not Dutch or not a fluent Dutch speaker (despite being a business with English in its title). I have shopped here in the past and found the younger staff to be very helpful and accommodating, however after today I will not shop here again. Middle aged woman who I can only guess is a manager or owner is excessivley rude and unpleasent. Clearly she has an issue with English speakers, this is fine but maybe put a sign up on the door and change the title of the shop to Dutch to make it clear that non Dutch speakers are not welcome, this way I know to take my buisness elsewhere. This woman needs therapy or maybe she should consider meditation, she clearly is miserable and chooses to vent her bile on foreigners.

Definitely a haven for painters, artists, calligraphers, and the like 😍 They have a wide array of selection from paints, to canvasses, to brushes, pens, papers, and even frames. I was so lucky to have found what I needed for my calligraphy projects and business at a much cheaper price compared to my country's currency (PhP). This shop is located at De Pijp, very accessible to shops, museums, restaurants, and just a few minutes away from the tram stop.

lovely place! Sine I work myself in an art store...i know how important a great organized art store is. It has all the things an artist desire from Schminke Colours to a frame shop next door. The staff is super friendly and sweet. Absolutely worth a visit when in Amsterdam. Also Chek out the nice Little DIY watercolour postcards of Claude Monet! Totally inspiring! Hope to grab some more next time I visit you guys 😊

Van Beek Art Supplies has been offering the best since 1895. Any artist that finds themselves in Amsterdam would be remiss not making a special trip to this place. Van Beek simply has everything you need and somethings you didn’t know you wanted. It is world class in every aspect.
